All it Takes is One Little Moment to Make a World of Difference One new idea. One person. One vision. It just takes one to ignite a movement that will change the future of an entire community. The Medica Foundation fosters new ideas, helping them come to life. View 2010 Annual Report.

Victims of Circumstance. Or Not. It’s the lucky person who has abundant opportunities and favorable circumstances. For many, circumstances conspire to limit opportunities. The wings to fly are elusive for many of us. However, circumstances can be changed. The Medica Foundation is committed to funding programs and initiatives that strengthen the health of individuals and communities. That means finding innovative programs that don’t take circumstances for granted, but work to change them so that people have the opportunity to thrive. View 2009 Annual Report.

Pursuing Good Health Together As odd as it may sound, good health is more complicated than it used to be. There are more foods that we should not eat and the ones we should are harder to come by. Exercise is still exercise, but there are more ways to avoid it than ever before. When we need health care, it is harder than ever to know where to go and who to see. Our community is more diverse, making it risky to assume that we even share common assumptions about what constitutes good health and how it can best be achieved. View 2008 Annual Report.

Insight In Action Trying new ideas takes courage, especially when tackling the challenging social, economic and health issues facing our community today. In 2007, the Medica Foundation supported a wide range of projects that put years of grantee experience, expertise and insight into action within our community. View 2007 Annual Report.

Cultivating Vibrant Communities In healthy communities, everyone has something important to contribute. During 2006, the Medica Foundation provided grants of more than $1.5 million, focused on eight essential community health priorities. Many of this year’s programs drew greater participation and generated more effective outcomes because they incorporated meaningful cultural components. View 2006 Annual Report.

| Inspiring True Health During 2005, one of our key funding priorities was to support ideas for improving behavioral health care services. We also invited proposals for projects designed to promote health advocacy, and improve preventive care services, patient safety and general health, with a special focus on new ideas for meeting the needs of high risk and underserved populations. | Embarking on Paths to Positive Change In 2004, the Medica Foundation funded a great range of projects. Some relied on tried and true precepts, others took approaches that were untested, but showed great promise. We sought to fund programs that encouraged lifestyle change and identified ways to help individuals take better care of their health. View 2004 Annual Report. |
