Here are some of the most commonly asked questions regarding grant opportunities and funding. Please feel free to contact us if you have additional questions.
We fund health-related programs. Funding areas are established annually, and subject to change from year to year.
Yes, however, organizations are eligible to receive only one grant within a calendar year.
If your grant was approved last year you may apply again this year. Please be prepared to show initial progress from your current grant.

During the posted application timeframes, organizations can submit a grant application using our online application process. All information, including grant application forms, will be available by March 1 of each year.

No, grant applications are accepted only during specified time frames. Refer to the key dates for our application timeframes.
Most grants are limited to 12 months. At times, we award multi-year grants which are by invitation only.
Yes, we allow up to 10 percent of the total grant amount to be used for measurement and evaluation so you can demonstrate the impact of your grant.
No, we do not fund capital expenditures or capital equipment.
No, we do not fund general operating support.
We allow minor equipment to be purchased with grant dollars if that equipment directly supports the project or program. An example of this would be a computer and printer to support a new staff person.
Up to 10 percent of the total grant amount can be allocated for administrative expenses. If a proposal is submitted with excessive administrative expense, it will be eliminated from the review process.
Salaries for program staff to support the grant activity may be included in the grant request. This information is reported separately from the administrative expense in the Salaries section of the Full Proposal.
You will receive an email confirmation when an Initial Application or Full Proposal is submitted. You will also be notified when a final decision is made.
The grant application, proposal and notification process can take between four and six months.
